and Tommy, in the interest of full disclosure and looking at both sides of the debate, have you considered how people in the LA area might feel who are looking for a Grinder since you have quite a few bought at retail price? My apologies if they were bought from members here, but doesn't the same principle apply?
Far from the same principle. The principle was that people who live here shouldn't have to compete with the rest of the world when looking for merchandise. When I was in New Jersey I generally only had to worry about other people in New Jersey. But here in California, since we usually gets things first, everyone else is like "OMGz I want that RIGHT THIS MINUTE!", and so half of our supply is automatically out the door to other locals. That's not really fair to the people who live here and make the trips to stores looking for this stuff.
People would save a lot of money if they learned to be patient. Even if you got lucky enough to get a Megazord for cost you're still paying $10 on top of that for shipping. It's kind of stupid not to just wait the month when these are as readily available as High Octanes in your own stores.
That's how it was shipped? With a thin layer of paper over the Megazord box?
I had a megazord shipped to me like that once, the box came completly trashed but the zord was ok so I wasn't too bothered (the Royal Mail really sucks over here).
As far as knowing LA, I grew up in LA/Orange counties. My Conceptions are fine, as is my phone. Which I use to call stores to see if they have something that is quite a distance away. If they say they dont have it (and your 90% of people lie bit makes me laugh, would love to see your sources on that) then I don't bother to waste my time or gas driving out there.
My sources are having worked 4 retail jobs. Unless you happened to get a manager or someone in a REALLY good mood no one ever checked stock for customers. You know what they do? Put the phone down, flirt with the cute coworker for a minute, pick it back up "Yeah we don't have that sorry." You're really gullible if you think people working in retail getting paid minimum wage are making any effort to see if they have the toys you're looking for. Moreso even if they WERE looking, you think they know the difference between Mighty Morphin's and RPM's and Jungle Fury's? Just because it says it on the box doesn't mean the underpaid miserable bastard taking your phone call bothers to pay any attention to detail. "Dino Megazord? *looks on shelf, sees High Octane Megazord* Yeah we got that."

Exactly, they JUST hit the market. So how about giving the people who actually live here a chance to get them before shipping them out all over the rest of the world. It won't be necessary for ANYONE to buy them online and waste money on shipping if you can exercise the slightest bit of patience. Christ... just because these are toys doesn't mean you have to act like children about them. "But I want it NOW!"

Personally, if I wanted two for whatever reason I wouldn't buy the second until they were readily available everywhere. But I'm just crazy like that, I try to actually be considerate of other people. If I'm going to have a spare just sitting in it's box I could wait a month or two to buy that one, and let someone else actually enjoy it. I guess the golden rule is lost on Rangerboard though.
Yeah I'm surprised how some people have really good experiences with retail workers. I always get the "whatever's out on the shelves is what we have" response. They don't bother checking the number or anything. There was this woman that just kept saying no to everything.
And I recently called the local Walmart and the person said there's no PR stuff at all.

That really annoys me though. I had this happened to me back in September. I was expecting a box in mint condition, since the item just came out. But when the package arrived, I noticed they just wrapped a layer of paper over it. It ruined the corners and had some damages.
I've stopped calling and asking all together, it's more of a waste of time then actually going there. I've heard them put the phone down because they were "checking" when in actuality they just continued what they were doing before then came back a few minutes later.

Same thing happened to me with a Goo Fish I ordered from Amazon. They shipped it in the original box and wrapped what looked like a grocery bag around it and wrote the info on it. I left feedback and they said, "description said, 'box was dented.' To me, dented does not mean caved in completely. And a word of advice, wrong way to ship. Good thing I didn't care too much about the box.

Same. I absolutely hate hearing that bloody response so much I don't even bother asking retail workers anymore. -_-'
Don't even get me started on calling stores on the phone. Utterly pointless. The people on the phone are completely futile. I'd rather save my saliva for other uses. >_>

Hey if you want to waste your gas and time so be it. I know to ether call, or do an online check to see if something so as important as a toy is actually there.

I don't see how your purchase of, what was it 7 grinders is a different principle. You cleaned up on an item that is difficult to get and now someone in your community could not get one because of it. I thought that was your main gripe, now it turns into 'If they stay in LA, its cool then".
So if this were anywhere else but LA you'd be just fine with someone buying 5 then?
I hope you realize how your "These are OUR toys and they need to stay in LA for us, not you guys" argument sounds and then criticize other people for "acting like children" about them?
I'm done with this argument. We get it, they are your toys - stay away.
I'll be looking for the ban on sales outside of Cali. warning any day now.
Finally the local Target has come through with stocking a new wave of figures. I was able to pick up the remaining MMPR figures that I needed, so now I can sit back and enjoy not driving around.
