Thanks, A.

I still have one more pack of the sculpting stuff but I'm kind of out of ideas for what villiains/monsters to make next.

BTW, I notice my horrible-attempt-at-a-custom Gurail/Darkonda made it into this pic...
It's so ugly and far from what I was hoping for that I refuse to show it... but somehow it snuck its way in. >_<
Enjoy it while you can... I'll be extra careful to not let him get into my pics again... that is until I "fix" him up.

Correct. You get a fortune cookie.

*cracks it open and reads paper*
"Look behind you. Chuck Norris is there. And out comes a fist from his beard!"

Anyway, I've been considering doing these ones next...
- N. Ma (final "octopus" form)
- Long (human form)
- Dokariya/Crustaceo (Geki ep. 17-18 / PRJF "One Master Too Many")... would allow me the opportunity to use the seas shells I picked up on a cruise as a child rather than letting them collect more dust or throwing them away
[The following is one OR the other, not both:]
- Long ("armor" form)... *IF* BoA's "Battle Armor Dai Shi" ends up being Rio's Gryphon form
- Rio's Gryphon form... *IF* BoA's "Battle Armor Dai Shi" ends up being Long's "armor" form

And I'll also be fixing up my Gurail/Darkonda so he'll be presentable... rather than him having to sneak into my pics.

I'd like some opinions. Are they feasible to attempt? Or are the bars set too high?

The sort of almost finished product....but im havin some trouble with the armor....when I put it on it scrapes off the paint on his ribs. Should I put a few clear coats on to protect him better?

Do you have anyway to trim the inside of the armor down? Like sanding paper or an x-acto knife? Other wise I'd recommend some type of paint sealer.

I've had this one on the shelf for a few months now. A basic repaint of Dai Shi's armor with so slight mods here and there.

Its not a hundred precent, the paint job needs to be touched up alittle.

I also added some wings on his back just for the hell of it.

Originally I made it to sale, but I've been dragging for so long it'll probaly just keep collecting dust.

I really don't know about the others, but I would love to see both of these. And they SEEM feasible, especially considering the customs you've done in the past.

Out of curiosity what kind of gold paint did you use. I want to know so I can touch up my own Daishi fig later.

I never watched Geki, so I made this not knowing he had one and thought I was being clever. Kind of a let down when I found out really. I might do some kind of all gold version based off that design eventually.

I used "Dazzling Metallics" gold, which is a line I found at hobby lobby. Not the highest quailty, but it does look pretty good. It took alot of coats before it looked decent. For some reason I don't have the best of luck with gold.

Here's my first custom based off the new Neca line of TMNT. Its
Its Michelangelo based off the episode "Same as it never was" of the recent series. In it we see a bleek future where Shredder reigns supreme. By far my favorite episode of the new series, which is saying alot.

He's made from a Neca Leo. I trimmed down the neck a ton, but was able to preserve the articulation. The mask was removed and sculpted over into a doo-rag with the end of 2k3 turtle bandana on the end.

The belts are various fodder glued together. The nunchuck holster is leather cut and glued into place.

It broke my heart cutting off his arm, but it had to be done. Afterwards I scupled the elbow pad off and sanded it down. Then I sculpted over.

The chucks are made from a movie Mikey and a little chain in between.

Reference pics:

This is the design I came up for when working on the gorilla, penguin, and gazelle rangers.

I haven't finsihed the other two, but this will be the template for them. I might go back and add some color to the shoes. Might go back and give the other three original rangers this look.

absolute beauty.

The only thing that catches my eye is the detail on the left shoulder strap. Looks a little bulky and doesn't match the ref pics. But this is a minor observation. Really like the attention to detail and the aggressive whittling, makes for a great looking Mike!

Do like it though. :]

Oh and does anyone have any pictures of the SPD ZERO figure based on a Mystqiue Fig that was posted here a year or two ago? I'd love to see that again.

Um i like the design just it doesn't feel whole to me. I can't put it on my finger maybe the black and white thing. How its just half black and white the suit just doesn't flow right. Yeah thats it. It looks like his pants were in the wash so he throw them on. May I suggest using the red to flow into the black and stuff. Maybe bring the white down in bolts or something.

Also this came to go grab those mystic force boxing gloves if you can. Throw some sculpty on it and five that man some weapons. Giant fists =) for a gorilla.

I totally agree with all your points. While I like what I came up with, it does feel like something is missing. I think I'll try to incorporate some of violet's design along with you said about the red flowing into the black. I figure I can give each ranger their own pattern (very basic one) to better fit in with the rest.

Oh and the boxing glove idea is brilliant! I was just gonna those that elephant shield on him, but this is some much better.

Actually that was one of mine from way back. She went through alot of different phase's before I eventually tossed it back into the fodder bin. I might have some pics laying around here somewhere.
