- Dr. K's speech at the beginning was brilliant on many levels: an explanation of the suits, a veiled reference to the morphing grid and spandex jokes. I loved every second of it.
- Nothing says ranger training like getting waterboarded.
- The requirements to be a ranger are rare. I dig that. Not just anyone can be a ranger so there are reasons to pick Dillon outside of his mecha body. I guess that'll make Ziggy more believable as a ranger too.
- The "ranger bonding" moment was fun. I just can't get over how we actually have a comedic character that is funny.
- I don't like the idea that the city vents gas at the same time every day. That's a pattern which is something you'd think an evil computer dude would notice and take advantage of. If they absolutely have to vent gas it should be at different doors at different times every time so that Venjix would never know where to strike.
- Does anyone else find it strange that the rangers are running around? I know the tire wheels make them faster but it just feels odd that there's a time-sensitive situation and the ranger based on cars are just running around.
- Mini Statue of Liberty!
- The rangers can manipulate time and throw Kamehamehas? WTF? Random.
- Oh snap. Dillon did the over the top, slow, deep-voiced morph that Mack did. It's still laughable.
- Let's make a mental note. Dillon can take on hundreds of Grinders my himself. Let's see how long that level of power stands up as his norm.
- See? They call each other "Ranger Black." The future episode titles now all make sense.

Very good episode overall. The dialogue continues to be incredibly sharp. If there is ever an aspect of an episode that I'm not digging the dialogue has been saving it. The first ten minutes or so of this episode is absolute gold. After that it did seem to drag a little. If anything, the sentai footage is holding this show back. 4 out of 5 easily.
An episode that actually took time to establish the world. The reasons for the suits, the way Corinth operates, some more backstory for Dillon. It didn't even feel forced. They actually took an episode to flesh out the world. Imagine how cramped all of this would've been if they had done it in the premiere as people incessantly wished for. That would've been a textbook case of fitting too much in at once.
4/5 for actually taking time out to world build. Even if the new attacks did seem a little flashy, the fighting's also not too overdone.
To begin with, I like the direction this episode took. We were able to see a glimpse into whatever must be haunting Dillon, but without necessarily making it the Dillon Show.
The dialogue was spot on, especially the lines from Dr. K; I can’t wait until she finally does reveal herself to be a female. I absolutely loved some of her lines:
“That is not spandex!”
“Would it be a cliché for me to point out that you missed a spot?”
“Don’t call me ‘Doc’.”
Brilliant. Also, the bit about Scott’s car could have well become overkill, but it was still funny even at the end of the episode. Dillon still has a particular bad-boy attitude, but it’s morbidly obvious that there could very well be more of Summer and Dillon’s foreshadowed growing relationship.
And Ziggy, although not used in excess in this episode, was able to offer his help as well; I suppose next week, we’ll get to see him in action, though.
Great episode. Loved the explanation of the morphing grid in a way that actually makes sense beyond "Zordon did it." And apparently the statue of Liberty was transported to Corinth city?
Saw the episode earlier this morning due to my abc affilate airs it at 6am. Pretty decent episode. Nice character development for dillion and cool to see him get the black ranger powers. The fights where pretty good too. The megazord battle was also good. Cant wait to see whats going on with dillion's past, his connection to venjix and to see ziggy become green ranger soon.
No way. What did I just watch? That was NOT Power Rangers. That was a million times better than any Power Rangers I've ever seen. The writing, the acting, the cinematography, even the music was the best I've ever seen in any season hands down.
If this be the last season, it's going to go out on a BANG!
The first ten minutes or so of this episode is absolute gold. After that it did seem to drag a little. If anything, the sentai footage is holding this show back.
I haven't really watched much of the recent PR, due to turning to sentai. But I have to say that I'm actually impressed that they actually give a damn for this show. Total turn around from what I've seen from JF.
I noticed the serious tone, but I didn't expect it to be a halfway decent Sci Fi kind of serious. Go out with a bang, I suppose.
Another amazing episode. Everything is just so well written. Dillon is probably one of the most interesting characters in PR history. His arrogance is not forced, it’s very smooth and it’s because not only a good actor is playing him but the way the character is written makes him likable. Hi relationship with Summer is also pretty cool!
Ziggy is win, Flynn is likable and Scott… annoys me.=/
Another huge surprise. I’m loving this new executive producer!
And apparently the statue of Liberty was transported to Corinth city?
I could see that making sense, like if they decided to take all of the world's greatest monuments and put them in their to preserve the culture apart from Venjix
I liked the episode. The explanation by Dr. K was rather well done, and like Tober said like I said, If this was in episode one, it would have been way to cramped.
I didn't like the Ranger's special attacks, or the Slo-mo Morph Call from Dillon.
At first I was a little Eh? About them running out of power, But it does make sense seeing as the suits are just prototypes, and those special attacks would seemingly take tons of power.
Another solid episode. I enjoyed it the entire time and was disappointed that the episode was over because I wanted to see more! The episode did drag a bit, but at the end I was pumped up by most of the fighting scenes. Although the deep voiced Dillon part made me lol.
Ziggy is becoming my favorite (soon to be) ranger, with Dillon a close second. But it looks as though all of the characters are going to be great. I'm excited to see that even though this is probably going to be the last season, RPM is starting on a very good note.
