Good news on the Virtual Console front: Super Mario Kart is releasing on Monday. Pilotwings and Super Smash Bros. release next month.

Super SF IV Argument: Well I admit, I didn't know much about it. I've heard of the EVO tournaments (that Wong/Daigo match was incredible) but I don't know the science behind it. To me I grew up in the 3D fighter era with Tekken and DOA. There's science behind those too, but one could get away easily with just mashing buttons.

Say what? Sagat was never able to do a 7 or 8 hit uppercut in SSF2T. It only started from the Street Fighter Zero/Alpha series.

I wouldn't count on that anytime soon. Nintendo seems to have made it more than clear their target audience will be children and casual gamers, Changing control schemes to look innovative yet ignoring up to date graphics seems to be their thing. That doesn't mean they do not have some great games, it simply means they are not going to focus on things like processing power.

In that case, it's understandable. You don't see too many 3D fighters in high level tournaments partly because of that reason. I don't know why, but exploits are easier in 3D fighters.

Yeah fi there's anything to know about Nintendo, is that they take their time in catching up to the rest of the industry. They like to keep things affordable which is why some features are sacrificed or compromised. Surely, I'd enjoy WFC if it was more like the PSN or Live but that seems to be a result of their philosophy and not their hardware. They'll probably upgrade to hD when the Next-Gen comes around, since the reason they didn't immediately do so this gen is because at the beginning of the new generation, HDTVs weren't nearly as common or affordable as they are now.

Has Nintendo ever been like this before? Not really becoming a full gamer until getting a PS2, I'm curious on Nintendo's behavior back then.

That is a big pain in the ass about the game. I've seen enough videos of SMBWii to realize that 4 characters [more if count the Yoshis] on screen at once is overkill. While its nice that the Wii is powerful enough to have that many characters on screen at once glitch free it does make for a very busy screen even if no enemy characters are on screen. They should have just left it to Mario and Luigi the 2 Toads were not needed.
My only major gripe is that you can only save after beating the Castles. In between them your screwed.

When did Sony redo the packaging for PSP games? That's... noticeable to say the least...
I'm debating on whether or not I'm gonna ditch my copy of Tag Force 3 since I already did the UMD recognition thingy on TF4 with it.

Supposedly it's to make the sleeves for the games uniform. Cutting down on printing costs world wide.

Left4Dead Skins
(I hope this is the right place)
Have any of you seen the various Left4Dead skins for the playable characters and hordes? I have, some of them good - some not so good. I looked through the variety and I have yet to come across ANY power Ranger skins... This needs to be remedied. Do any of you know of any MMPR skins for Left4Dead or Team Fortress?

Anyone else having an issue with Xbox.com showing up only in Japanese? I wanted to check my warranty status, but no matter what I do it won't come up in English.

Click on インターナショナル at the top, select the United States (if that's the version of English you want anyroad). If it doesn't take, it's like any other website that loads based on the cookies you have for it. Thus delete those cookies and try again.

...I'm honestly confused as to how it ended up set to that, unless Opera was telling it that, since this was the first time I was visiting with Opera...

That would only happen if you set Opera Preferences with Japanese as your selected preference for languages instead of the default U.S. English.
It is a Microsoft website though, they always have odd glitches that randomly occur on any browser (thanks to IE's sub-par standards and coding).

Edit to take part with the below post.
I love New Super Mario Bros Wii, it's the return to 2D Mario games that I wanted. Yet I never wanted multi-player for it (nor any 2D platformer game not named Sonic 3 and Knuckles, silly tails flying Sonic up to new areas), but there it was.
When my friends were over we played against each other in and had fun, but it soon ballsed-up when no one was winning any more.
When my best mate over here, girlfriend, and I played to help each other it also ballsed-up quickly as it was too slow or inadvertently harmed each other. That is, until we got used to the different speed, timing, short pauses, and talking to each other about what we were going to do. Then on in it became a great bout of fun and well worth to keep playing on.
I still say it's a better game single player wise and it's quite clear it was made for the first and foremost. Yet multi-player isn't some quick knackered off add-on for 2, 3, or 4 players. It just takes some getting used to for some. It's also not for everyone, much like any multi-player in general.

I played with two and it was a blast. It's a "hassle" because it takes getting used to. Traditional platforming strategy's go out the window when everybody's on one screen at once.
The second player and I took a bit of adjusting, but within a few levels we had started to get a hang for using one another to accomplish goals (such as bouncing off heads or boosting a jump.

I did get used to it with two, I said more than two is a hassle. I can get used to four and perfecting a four players game, but it wasn't really that fun and we played through world 2.
